Chicken and Wild Rice Soup

Ingredients

3 cans chicken broth, add 1 bouillon cube
2 cups water
1/2 cup uncooked wild rice mix (Uncle Ben's)
1/2 cup green onions, chopped
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon poultry seasoning
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 cups half and half
1 1/2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
8 slices cooked bacon, broken up

Directions
  1. Add broth, water, rice and green onions to large pot. Bring to a boil and let simmer 35-40 minutes.
  2. In separate pan, make a white sauce by melting butter, stirring in the flour and seasonings. Cook 1 minute until bubbly, slowly add the half and half stirring until thickened.
  3. Add it to the broth mixture.
  4. Let the soup simmer and thicken as you like and stir in chicken and bacon.
